PROPHETS

The 25 prophets mentioned by name in the Quran are Adam, Idris (Enoch), Nuh (Noah), Hud, Saleh (Methusaleh), Lut (Lot), Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob), Yusuf (Joseph), Shu’aib (Jethro), Ayyub (Job), Dhulkifl (Ezekiel), Musa (Moses), Harun (Aaron), Dawud (David), Sulayman (Solomon), Ilyas (Elijah), Al-Yasa (Elisha), Yunus (Jonah), Zakariya (Zechariah), Yahya (John the Baptist), Isa (Jesus), and Muhammad. These prophets are central to the Quran’s narrative, conveying the message of one God and guiding humanity toward righteousness. 

The 25 Prophets

1. Adam: The first prophet and human being. 
2. Idris (Enoch): The first human to use a pen and pursue astronomy. 
3. Nuh (Noah): Known for building the Ark and surviving the Great Flood. 
4. Hud: A prophet sent to the post-flood era. 
5. Saleh: Sent to guide the people of Thamud. 
6. Lut (Lot): Sent to guide the people of Sodom and Gomorrah towards righteousness. 
7. Ibrahim (Abraham): An “arch prophet” known for his strong faith, including the command to sacrifice his son. 
8. Ismail (Ishmael): The son of Ibrahim and the ancestor of the Arab people. 
9. Ishaq (Isaac): The son of Ibrahim and the ancestor of the Banu Israel. 
10. Yaqub (Jacob): The father of Yusuf. 
11. Yusuf (Joseph): His story is narrated in detail in the Quran, involving betrayal by his brothers and eventual rise to prominence in Egypt. 
12. Shu’aib (Jethro): A priest and the father-in-law of Musa. 
13. Ayyub (Job): A descendant of Yaqub. 
14. Dhulkifl (Ezekiel): A prophet who preached in Babylon. 
15. Musa (Moses): One of the five “arch prophets,” associated with the Exodus and the giving of the Torah.
